Traditional Thai body massage is based on an ancient healing system. It combines rhythmic acupressure, assisted yoga, energy balancing, and gentle stretching. Traditional Thai body massage is founded upon the belief in a life energy called lom, which literally translates to "wind." Lom is inherent in all forms of life and it travels through pathways in the body called sen. When these pathways, or channels, get blocked a person experiences discomfort or diseases. Traditional Thai Massage is one ancient healing system that works to unblock the energy channels by stimulating the flow of lom through sen, bringing about a general feeling of balance and well being. The benefits from facilitated stretching and deep breathing that is shared between the practitioner and recipient during a Thai body massage session is difficult to achieve through western forms of exercise or an individual yoga practice. The Thai Massage practitioner works with spiritual discipline that incorporates mindfulness in breathing and loving kindness (metta) that brings the session to a higher mind/body experience for both the practitioner and recipient. Tuition: $495.00 |

A large part of this class will be focused on the health and proper body mechanics of the practitioner as well.
