Katherine's practice centers around the needs of pregnant and new mothers. As a mom of identical twin boys, Katherine knows and understands a mother's special needs. She has attended workshops in Arvigo Maya Abdominal Massage and is a trained Doula.
Wendy Powell, BS, CKTP, LMTI

Wendy is a graduate of Chapman University of Orange, CA with a major in Business Management. She also graduated from the Swedish and Clinical Massage Therapy programs at THAI. Wendy obtained certifications in Traditional Thai and advanced Thai Therapeutic massage, and traditional Thai foot massage from the world-famous Wat Pho temple in Bangkok, Thailand. She is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practioner.
Becky Peters, MSOM, L. Ac.

Becky is a licensed acupuncturist and certified Chinese herbalist. She received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin. She treats patients with a gentleness and sensitivity that allows for very relaxing treatments. Becky carefully chooses the most effective points for each patient so that she can use the fewest needles possible. She incorporates acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese herbs, Asian bodywork, and dietary advice into her treatments for both adults and children.
Amber Minton, Esthetician,

Amber Minton is a licensed esthetician with extensive knowledge in skin biology, medical modalities, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and advanced facials. She is also trained in reflexology, epilating services, eyelash extensions, and makeup artistry. Amber graduated from Avenue 5 Institute, and holds certifications with Priorskincare, Skinceuticals, and Dermalogica. Her affinity for a holistic lifestyle has informed her natural approach to skincare. She enhances her esthetic knowledge by in depth product and ingredient research, networking within the wellness community, and attending seminars. Amber customizes each skin analysis and treatment session according to her client's particular skin needs, to bring optimal results and true health to your mind, body, and skin.
John Shafer, MSEE, LMT, LMTI

John comes to THAI with a Masters Degree in Engineering from Texas A&M. He taught at both Texas A&M University and at Blinn College. Trained in THAI’s 500 hour program, John incorporates his knowledge of physics and mechanics into his work as a massage therapist. John's unique combination of relaxation and deep tissue therapy, results in improved function, mobility, and body mechanics of his clients. John also teaches Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology classes at THAI.
Carmen Plumb, LMT
Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage
In the fall of 2009, Carmen relocated to Austin from Venice Beach, CA, and began to study therapeutic bodywork at THAI, graduating in January 2011. An early background in gymnastics, acting, and various dance styles led her from northern California to Los Angeles where she worked in commercials, television, & film. During those eight years in southern California, Carmen also designed jewelry for unique catalogues and boutiques throughout the US and Japan. She enjoys working with her clients to find valuable tools that support healthy lifestyle choices including exercise, stretching, and nutrition. Carmen's focus is on the integration of techniques, allowing her style to adapt to each of her client's needs and specific goals. For the past year, she has volunteered for Texas Roller Derby (TXRD) as a Self-Care Consultant, helping skaters to prepare for bouts and to prevent injury. Her free time is dedicated to watching movies, writing, practicing yoga and reiki, and talking to people about the benefits of massage.
Susan Prins, MFA, LMT

Susan received her massage training from Texas Healing Arts Institute in 2009, after relocating to Austin from Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico, where she made her home for 14 years. She holds a BA in East Asian Studies from Middlebury College in Vermont, as well as an MFA in Theater Arts from the University of Arizona. Susan’s massage practice is enhanced by her in-depth education and her experience as a performing artist and teacher of dance, experiential anatomy, and movement. Her clients describe her massage as flowing, focused, mindful, caring, and tuned in to their individual needs. Susan specializes in relaxation, prenatal, and deep tissue massage.
