Microcurrent Face Lift

A microcurrent face lift, alternatively called a non-surgical face lift, is a safe, painless, non-invasive cosmetic treatment used to enhance the healthy condition and young appearance of skin, and improve the tonus of facial muscles. Microcurrent treatments are suitable for any person interested in maintaining or restoring a vital youthful appearance.

Microcurrent functions by activating inherent metabolic processes in your skin and facial muscles to smooth and eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, improve muscle tone, lift eyebrows and jowls, and increase vascular circulation in facial tissue. The technique additionally promotes lymphatic drainage, facilitates healing, accelerates cell repair due to sun damage, and improves the appearance of skin pigmentation conditions.

Microcurrent facelifts have none of the side effects commonly associated with conventional surgical facelifts. There is no anesthesia, no incisions, no recovery time due to surgery, and most important, no pain is associated with the treatment. In most cases dramatic results in appearance are immediately noticeable. In addition a microcurrent facelift is significantly more affordable in comparison with the high cost of a surgical facelift.

A microcurrent session takes about an hour to complete and is often accompanied by a soothing facial to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. During the session, microcurrent is applied in specific configurations to target the epidermis, the dermis and the muscles. The intensity, duration, and wavelength applied depend on the body area and type of tissue being treated.

Initially low intensity microcurrent is applied to activate and promote blood and lymph circulation and warm muscles and tissues. This results in improved elasticity of the skin, increased hydration, and elimination of vascular stagnation and metabolic waste.

In the subsequent treatment phase, tone is restored to muscles by stimulating the Golgi tendon organs with microcurrent. These cellular organelles reside at the ends of the muscle cells. The function of the Golgi tendon organs is to propagate the electrical signals transmitted by the motor neurons to the muscle cells, thereby regulating muscle activity and resting length, or tonus. Over time, muscles contract or shorten due to repetitive stimulation and stress, or sag due to lack of stimulation and gravity. A healthy muscle tonus is achieved by applying the appropriate amount of microcurrent to the Golgi tendon organs. As a result, components of the face are lifted, and fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed providing the skin with a younger, firmer appearance.

Microcurrent treatments are not limited solely to facial applications. The technique is an especially efficient method for body sculpting. In addition to eliminating wrinkles and firming the face, eyebrows, cheeks, jowls, eyes and lips, microcurrent can lift and tone a variety of body areas including the chest, breasts, arms, stomach, thighs or hips.

Long lasting benefits of a microcurrent face lift or body lift are best achieved through our basic twelve session course of therapy. Our esthetician recommends two sessions a week for two weeks and one session a week for four weeks followed by one session a month for four months. Subsequent maintenance appointments may be scheduled as needed.

Diamond Microdermabrasion

Diamond microdermabrasion is the most popular anti-aging skin care treatments available to both men and women. It is an advanced method for exfoliating the skin and removing dead cells which, if not removed, often promote additional skin care issues. Microdermabrasion exfoliates more rapidly than other facial treatments and encourages the production of healthy, new, younger looking skin cells.

Diamond microdermabrasion is preferred over crystal microdermabrasion because the process does not produce the hazardous dust that results from crystal microdermabrasion. Exfoliated cells are removed from the skin by gentle vacuum filtration. Therefore, the treatment can be applied near the eyes and around the mouth to areas where skin first shows signs of aging.

Microdermabrasion is known as the "lunch time" facial care treatment, because there is no recovery time following the session. Unlike other skin treatments that can leave your face looking red and feeling irritated, microdermabrasion leaves your skin feeling softer, younger looking, healthier, and glowing. The procedure is easy, painless, and extremely effective.

Our esthetician recommends single microdermabrasion sessions to exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin. The removal of fine lines, discolorations or deeper blemishes usually requires up to six sessions for the greatest benefit.
